Dr. Carol Wang

Clinical Psychologist

Being a therapist is a clever combination of several ambitions I have had since childhood: doctor, lawyer and journalist.  A therapist can heal people’s hearts like a doctor; can have clear logic and thinking like a lawyer; can also ask questions and make judgments and analyzes as quickly as a journalist. Through this, I can deeply understand that the experiences at every stage of life will not be in vain. I believe these will become the nutrient to your dreams in life.

I believe that the cultivation of spiritual life should be the first priority for physical, mental and spiritual health. After receiving a series of mindfulness meditation courses since 2016, I aligned with my husband, Joe, jointly studied how to apply mindfulness techniques in parenting.  We co-wrote the book “Qi Jia – A spiritual journey co-created by parents and children” to promote the importance of raising children while raising oneself, helping parents improve their self-awareness and consciously see their own life issues from raising their children and direction of self-growth.

I therefore specialize in providing coaching-style psychological counseling to those who do not have mental illness but are seeking personal and spiritual growth. Committed to helping clients shift from the people and things that happen on the outside to the exploration of their inner self, I believe that psychological counseling and spiritual growth are complementary to each other – because it‘s only when we focus on our inner psychological states and understand what they can teach us that we can live wiser, healthier lives.

In addition to my passion for psychology and mass communication education, being born in a large family of eight children and having a background of homeschooling two children and rich experience in scientific research on family relationships for many years, so I have a good understanding of parenting at different stages. With profound discovery and experience, I focus on helping clients bring about changes in the family system through personal life growth.

I envision myself to be a lifelong learner. I love music, reading, playing my cello, and watching movies with my family. I prefer to explore and appreciate the truth, goodness and beauty of the people and things around me with the eyes of my spirit, and experience the meaning of life in nature.
